CS/AIX V6.3

Hello, everyone

I'd like to make sure if a Primary RUI application can communicate with a
local LU in the same CS/AIX node.
I know a down stream LU which is defined with define_downstream_lu verb and
host_lu_name=#RRIRUI# is specified can
have a session with the Primary RUI program. But not sure if the LU which is
defined with define_local_lu ( or define_lu_0_to_3)
can communicate with the Primary RUI application.

Please let me know if CS/AIX supports such U-shaped session for the Primary
RUI program.

or Does the U-shaped session is only available for Independent LU6.2 ?

Thank you for your help,

The answer to your question is yes, but it is
NOT via the same U-shaped session used by LU6.2.

To have both the primary and secondary sides
of a dependent LU (for Primary RUI API) you
need to have two linkstations defined, usually
on two adapters, both within the same box.
The two adapters are needed because you need
two unique MAC addresses.

You usually cannot use two links on one adapter
with two unique SAPs (0x04, 0x08) because that
would be just one MAC address and many switches
will not send the frame back into the same
adapter that it came out of.

So you have one linkstation on adapter 0 which
is defined as a gateway downstream link and a
second linkstation on adapter 1 which is defined
as a host link. These link will have to be
defined as dependent-only because you don't want
the CommServer trying to start cp-cp sessions
with itself.

If that wasn't clear, ask again and I will post
a sample config file.
